About CheapTickets

You can make savings on your bookings by using CheapTickets coupons, a list of which we keep update here at Coupofy.

CheapTickets

Jeff Clarke currently serves as Chairman of CheapTickets, while Barney Harford is the President and CEO. The company makes multi-millions in revenue each year.

CheapTickets was originally founded as an offline company by Michael and Sandra Hartley in the 80s, after Mid Pacific Air gave them 3,000 tickets instead of direct payment for an advertising contract. They took the tickets and sold them at discount prices, parlaying that in to a "ticket consolidation" business. This involved buying tickets from airlines in bulk (and therefore at a discount) and selling them on to individuals below the regular price, but high enough above their bulk price to make a profit.

The website was launched in 1997 making it one of the first online travel companies.

In the year 2000 CheapTickets was acquired by Cendant. Then in 2006 it was sold along with Travelport to the Blackstone Group, which later became Orbitz Worldwide, Inc. In recent months online travel giant Expedia made an offer to buy Orbitz.

CheapTickets Sells

CheapTickets.com has a simple search box that you'll see as soon as you load up the homepage. It allows you to book services as a package, including the flight, hotel and car, or different combinations of them all. You can also book cruises.

You can then enter a destination (such as the city, region or airport), the check in and check out dates, and how many people  you are booking for.

You will then be displayed with a list of results that match your requirements and the overall price of the package. These will be accompanied by reviews of the accommodation.

CheapTickets is primarily aimed at US customers and all pricing is displayed in dollars, although there's nothing preventing you from buying flights from London to Turkey for example.

Payment Methods

CheapTickets.com payments can be made using all major credit and debit cards including American Express, Discover, MasterCard and VISA. You can also use the PaidByCash system available in local stores that will accept cash and make the credit card payment on your behalf.

If you wish to redeem a CheapTickets coupon code, all you have to do is copy the code from Coupofy and paste it in to the designated promo box, which you should see during checkout, before the payment step.

Shipping Options

The majority of tickets and bookings made on CheapTickets.com are delivered digitally and are known as eTickets. These are delivered via email allowing you to print off the information. If you are required to present the information you can do this via the print-out or on your smart phone in most cases.

In most cases nothing is shipped to your home address.

Return Policy

CheapTickets uses Allianz Travel Insurance giving you Airline Trip Protection if you cancel your booking due to illness, injury and other reasons.

Cancellation policies vary from booking to booking but CheapTickets will let you know if any portion of your reservation is eligible for a refund prior to cancellation. It can take up to 45 days for the refund to be made to your designated card.

Of course if you use a CheapTickets coupon code to apply a discount to your booking, you will only be refunded the actual amount charged to your card.
