About Threadless
Threadless receives about 1000 designs a week from which the designers who win the competition receive 20% in royalties based on net profits and are paid monthly along with a $250 gift card. Threadless is said to be operating at over $30million US a year and has won the award “the Most Innovative Small Company in America” by Inc. Magazine.
The artist community in the Threadless network had over 2.4 million people. In 2007 Threadless opened up a retail store in Chicago, which carries the newest two weeks worth of designs. Its founders are Jake Nickell, Jacob DeHart, Thomas Ryan, Jeffrey Kalmikoff and Harper Reed and they employ over 100 people from their warehouse and headquarters in the West Loop of Chicago.
Threadless Sells
Threadless sell a range of limited edition apparel and accessories, includeing Men’s t-shirts, V-necks, tri-blends, long sleeves, hoodies, sweatshirts and tanks. As well as a women’s range of T-shirt, tri-blends, V-necks, scoop necks, dolmans, boat necks, long sleeves, hoodies, sweatshirts and tanks.
Examples of accessory products sold are, iPhone cases, calendars, socks, laptop cases, iPad cases. They also sell the artwork in canvas and print form so customers can hang winning art pieces in their homes and offices. A range of kids gear similar to the men’s and women’s lines are available for purchase too.
Threadless also prints and sells a range of backpacks and tote bags. All of Threadless’ t-shirts are printed on American apparel garments. They have partnered with a bunch of other companies to produce unique items, companies such as Dell (computers), Thermos (water bottles), Griffin (Apple phone cases), UNICEF (charity T shirts) and Blik wall designs (removable wall graphics).
Payment Methods
Cards accepted by threadless are Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Only Debit Cards backed by a Credit Card company listed above (Visa, MasterCard, etc.) can be accepted. They don't accept Switch, Electron, Maestro and some other international debit cards. Credit Card gift cards are also not an accepted form of payment. Threadless offers gift certificates as a form of payment too. Gift certificates may be emailed to the recipient through their website or printed to give. Gift certificates are available in $25, $50, and $100 amounts. They also offer gift cards with different Threadless designs on them.
Return Policy
Threadless allow you to be able to return the items that you purchase for an exchange, refund to your original payment or a Threadless credit. All returns must be made within 60 days of placing your order. You can also exchange the items. However, the original shipping cost is not refunded. All returned items have to be in the original condition and they don’t accept items, which have been washed. If you have any issues its recommended to contact the help team.
